Comments
Comments: I snowshoed to the summit for the grid 12/12. Snowboarded down from Jacob’s Ladder in beautiful powder. (The top half was too icy and rocky for my taste, but others were trying to ski it.) There is a nice skin track on the north side of the rails on the bottom half, so I tried not to mess that up. I would stay on the south side if snowshoeing, and north side if skinning. Televators were used the whole way up, and it’s a no-fall zone once it gets steep, so ice axe and crampons could be used, but I didn’t have those, just my MSR Denalis and poles. I put my helmet on too going up. Pretty typical conditions, I’ve seen it worse, but also better. I was lucky to get to enjoy the powder before it’s all skied off!
