Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Icy rock hops on Falling Waters. Waterproof boots and gaiters and spikes would be good.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I cleared the path of all downed trees on the loop. I didn’t count them but the largest were about 6 inches, most were about 2 inches. Amazing nobody else brought a saw today or wrote a report. I think someone was working on the new lower part near the flagging.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No.
Bugs
Bugs: No.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There was a pair of gloves at the trailhead, and a sweatshirt on the trail but I forget where exactly.

Comments
Comments: Perfect conditions on the Franconia Ridge Loop! I needed these 2 for December so I joined the crowds which weren’t terrible. A bit of leap frogging, but it’s to be expected on this trail. I was really surprised nobody else brought a hand saw. The whole hike took me 5 hours and I enjoyed moving at a slower pace than usual.
