Trail conditions are a bit of this and a bit of that! I stayed in rock spikes most of the time. The access road has plenty of area to avoid ice, but beyond that I felt safer in spikes. Where the trail is packed snow it's great conditions, and then it goes to bare ground and then ice, and so on and so on. Lots of ice on the rocky areas of Piper Mountain, but fine with spikes. |
