Comments
Comments: Started with microspikes on from the car. Bike path had a nice crusty layer of snow on it. As we started up liberty Springs snow became more sparse and there was plentiful amounts of running water and leaves on the trail. Water crossings were not a problem, but we took caution crossing the ice covered rocks. Heading up to liberty was a mixture of bare rocks, running water , ice, dams, and hard snow pack. Between peaks the snow pack is hard and we used micro spikes without any issues. Many many blow downs all over the trail which required us to navigate around them or step over cautiously. Despite the blow downs, ice and running water, the trail was in perfect shape for micro spikes where there was actual snow.
