Comments
Comments: Snowshoes needed on Jewell Trail above 3000', especially above treeline. Kept snowshoes on all day. Very little exposed rock, some icy places that we were able to walk around. Started the day bare booting and put microspikes on at junction of Jewell cut-off and Jewell Trail. Switched to snowshoes around 3500'. Trail was a little tricky to find in places because of the hard pack and no obvious tracks. Great day to be up on the ridge, not a cloud in the sky and light winds.
