Comments
Comments: Snowpack survived yesterday's monsoon, likely helped by the temperatures not getting as warm as forecast.

The lower portion of Old Mountain Erode was blown out in places from the running water. I was able to pick my way up the edges to avoid the running water. I opted for an unofficial trail for the descent to avoid it altogether. Crawford Ridgepole Trail has virtually full snowpack, but it's still not too firm. The last person up yesterday before the heaviest ran wore snowshoes, so fortunately there aren't any postholes. Yet.

Only a few inches of crunchy snowpack down low, but it's still a foot or deeper in places up on the ridge. Snowshoes roundtrip.

Partly sunny afternoon with temperatures below freezing. Winds were picking up after sunset with temperatures dropping and a snow squall.
