A couple of easy step-overs and quite a few leaners to contend with but nothing major that impedes progress. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Sarge had a great time playing in the snow and rolling around, a little balling up of snowballs along the ridge but overall easy conditions for winter hiking dogs. Did see another dog that came over growling at Sarge, it was a little unnerving, please be able to hold your dog or leash it if it has a tendency to do that. |

 | Comments: |
I was able to wear light traction with no issues to the Avalon / A-Z trail junction. After that I wore my snowshoes until back to this junction, you could probably get by without them most of the way up towards Mount Tom Spur and up and down to Avalon, but above Avalon and along the ridge snowshoes are the footwear of choice and pretty much mandatory between Field and Willey where there is a lot of soft snow and some drifting.
Nice quiet morning out with beautiful views before the next storm comes rolling through. Always nice to see familiar and friendly faces out and about. :) |
