Comments
Comments: 2-4 inches of new snow on Lincoln Woods trail and 4-8" of loose snow along Bondcliff trail. You could see the outline of the existing trough so route finding below the ridge was fine - just alot of trail breaking for the 2 of us. At the Alpine sign where the 10-12 ft rock face is located, we had to do a work around to the left forcing our way through the trees and using roots to pull ourselves up. Once on the ridge, it was blowing snow 40-60 mph, socked in, drifts were 3-5 feet (I went up to my chest), and we couldn't find the trail. We knew the rest of the ridge to Bond and West Bond was likely to be the same so we turned around. I had trouble standing up and without being able to navigate the drifts to find the trail, we turned around before reaching the actual summit.
