Comments
Comments: First hike (for us) this season that merited snow shoes. There was a thin layer to walk through in the shallows, and then a lot of snow to snowshoe through going up the Osceola trail. Lots of deeper snow in the upper third of the Osceola trail. Had decent success with an axe in place of hiking poles in the steepest parts. Some modest drifts on the ridge after the last of the steeps.

TL;DR: lots of snow. Bring your snowshoes. (Not sure how this will change after Wednesday/Thursday after the warm temps/rain/refreeze.)
