Comments
Comments: I bare booted until the ledges on Mt Major trail when I put on microspikes. Others had bare booted up, but spikes made it much easier and safer as there are some icy spots under the snow. Blustery and drifty on the summit of Major. I switched to my snowshoes at the junction of Brook and Belknap Range trail. Everyone else I saw was bare booting, but I felt snowshoes were a better option as the snow deepened. I broke out Quarry Spur to Dave Roberts Quarry trail, then continued to break out Dave Roberts Quarry trail to Belknap Range trail. I continued to Straightback and then descended to the parking lot using Brook trail. I kept snowshoes on until the flatter part of Brook Trail.
