route went up avalon, over to field, started to go to willer but wasn't feeling it so turned around about 1/3 of the way...back over field, over to tom and then back to the road. all trails were pretty well packed. Surprisingly a ton of people out today considering the cold- at the road it was about 19 deg but along the ridge it was easily 12 or colder. there were a bunch of people out without snowshoes, most not a problem except the ridge between field and willey seem like some people were digging in pretty deep and them using snowshoes would have been nice. lots of snow on the trees. |
