I snowshoed up and wore beater spikes on the way down. It’s pretty bony. The other three hiker, that we saw today, wore spikes. There is no discernible packed base but it’s thin enough cover that you hit rock. A lot. More snow is coming tonight so if I were hiking tomorrow I would bring my snowshoes - it won’t take much more snow to fill in the gaps!
There is not much ice, even on the ledgy bits.
As you might expect, Mead Trail is not broken out. |
