Comments: NOTE: Snowshoes or skis should be worn on Livermore Road during ski season.
Super happy just to get out today - threw my back out a few days ago so figured I'd dub around WV. After a mile or so, back was feeling better so I continued on. Low down, the snow is only a few inches deep. However, of course, snow gets deeper especially above the Scaur. Could have/should have worn snowshoes from that point on but left them in the car and, although I had energy to bareboot, I probably didn't have energy to snowshoe a path solo.... snow got super deep when getting near the Flume. That area tends to hold snow. From the Flume Spur up the "headwall" - snow was pretty deep and slippery. I really had to take time. Finally, when I got to Livermore Rd, I had to make a separate bareboot track so as not to damage ski track. It was a couple miles before the snow level fell and I was able to make better time. Beautiful day out. I didn't see any tracks to Scaur Ridge Tr, or either of the Mt Tripyramid Trail legs (north end or south end).
