| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at Lowe’s store and did a short road walk to the east, but it looks like maybe 2 cars could park on the grass where the trail starts. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Only a couple 10+” thick logs left across the path, but they are easy to step over and under. I removed many smaller annoying downed trees from the path with my bow saw, some up to 5 inches thick. |

I was happy to put my bow saw to use today and left the trail in good shape for when the snow gets deeper. This gentle route is 10 miles out and back with roughly 2600 feet of total gain. It is well signed and blazed, and the orange blazes are very helpful in the open glades on the lower part. There was about 3 inches of snow on average. It’s a pretty smooth trail so you could use snowshoes now, even skis if you really wanted to. I was pleased that the traffic noise disappeared after the first junction, about 1 mile in, after that it was an absolute winter wonderland and there is a unique view from the North lookout on Crescent of the Kilkenny Ridge and beyond. |
