| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Despite clearing a half dozen Saturday, Sunday's weather again took more down. Took six more trees out this morning as well as four crowns. One very large ice encrusted one in the middle of the trail at the summit. There is one more blowdown around the first water crossing, but our journey did not take us here. There where several reports of blowdowns in the last few days but no one thought to just bend down and pick up said limb and remove it. About a score of those, easy peasy. |

A fine morning for before work vert. Bare boot to summit, spikes to car. Stairmaster is getting covered up, slowly. They are getting ready more and more every day to blow snow. We got stopped by a groomer, of which we realized we where two trails off from where we thought we were - which looking back now justifies the mutual confusion. We where gabbing in the early morning and like a lemming followed snowcat tracks. They asked us to stay off the ski trails until after sunrise. There is excavators and other heavy pieces of equipment actively working on the ski trails, so it may be advisable (and I will be) to avoid the ski trails until we get a base down low and they aren't actively putting up snow guns. It's big enough for all to enjoy |
