Comments
Comments: A picture perfect day on the Bonds with blue skies and undercast. Lincoln Woods was bone dry, then snow steadily increasing with elevation. I didn’t bring snowshoes, but almost wanted them for the last half mile. Microspikes and gaiters went on at treeline. The footing was awkward at times on the ridge, and I bent a pole but it saved me from stumbling too far in the unconsolidated snow and rocks. I also fell in the mud on the lower trail on my way out. I only saw one other guy all day, near the summit - he was going for the loop and camping overnight, (no snowshoes that I could see.) As far as the bent over icy branches, it wasn’t too bad on my way to Bond, I’m not sure if it gets narrower on the Twinway.
