Lowes path was well packed out from start to finish. However, there was a mile and a half section that is covered with ice-flows. We all wore crampons, except for one who had forgotten hers and wore microspikes. Ken said it's the worst he's seen it in decades.
Above tree-line was much better and spikes would have sufficed. Beautiful day-- robbin's egg blue skies, wind not too crazy (probably gusting to 40 at top, but only on the summit cone), and downright warm in the col before the summit where the win was fully blocked. Actual temps on top probably in the high single digits. Great day to be above tree-line! |
