Comments
Comments: The snow was packed to Zealand Falls Hut, where Alex and I spent the night on 2/3. In the morning, Alex and I broke trail (2-5 inches of fluffy snow) most of the way to Zeacliff. We were then passed by a fast young fellow who took over the trailbreaking. Soon after Zealand, couples and various groups went this way and that, so we found the trails nice and smooth for the rest of the day.

There were many people out there, but I still recommend bringing the snowshoes. Many parts of this trek are now microspike-able, but I think some bits (in the woods, in cols) are still soft, in spite of the many snowshoes that tromped through.

Windy and white just before Guyot, which made me fret about the crossing from Bond to Bondcliff. I needn't have worried; the sun came out, the winds died down, and Alex and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll across the ridge. We spent a lot of time on Bondcliff, as the sky was clear and the views were gorgeous.

There were a TON of people out there. Between the folks on the trails and the guests at the hut, we met people connected to every single hiking organization or group that I know. Even met a few folks from my alma mater. Very fun and social weekend.

Many congrats to Tom Milnes, who finished his winter 48 on West Bond.
