The Carter Ledge trail is great. I enjoyed the cliff sections. I didn't see it, but there was likely a bear off trail just below the steeper ledges based on the noise. Middle Sister and Chocorua have great views. The Liberty/Hammond/Weetamoo trails made for a nice, easy descent after the steeper Carter Ledge ascent.
No issues with mud at this point. No filterable water past the first quarter mile or so, so plan accordingly. |
