We wanted so much for it to be a Presi day today but my magic wand wouldn't work. The Hancocks filled the bill! A snowy start gave way to a beautiful blue sky and mild temps with little or no wind.
We left our snowshoes in the car. We used light traction to the base of the North Hancock slide and switched to crampons. Switched back to light traction at the bottom of the steep section descending South Hancock. Snowshoes would have been great on the section between North and South where it drifts but we did ok. Trails are all packed out and firm after today's traffic. |
