We broke trail through 4-6 inches of powder up high. Crampons are a good idea for the steep sections but you could probably get by with snowshoes (with good traction) or maybe even microspikes. Beautiful day with moderate winds. Tracks above treeline disappear very quickly and I doubt ours are still there so plan on breaking trail. We didn't see anyone on the trail except for 3 people making their way from Greyknob. |
