Incredible day in the Carters. 19 MBT covered with ice with granular snow on it. Carter Dome trail mostly packed powder but above Zeta Pass, 2-4 inches of fresh snow with areas of drifting. Microspikes to the higher Mt. Hight turn then snowshoes the rest of the day. Across Carter-Moriah a mix of packed powder, granular snow on ice and areas of drifting, new snow. All is packed out now between my trek and others coming from behind. Great time to grab these now...
Great lenticular clouds today, cold but not too windy. Nice seeing Tim C.as I was coming off of Carter Dome. Saw one other person all day, also Tim. |
