The gate to the South Pond Recreation area was closed at noon on a good weather Saturday. Plan on having some extra time for an extra two miles if you get there and it is closed. |

All water crossings were bridged or easily rock hopped. |

There were a couple of blowdowns near the summit that were able to be stepped over fairly easily. |

 | Comments: |
There were decent patches of mud a few times that took some care to circumnavigate or hop. The ledge was a great treat after the long trek out there. The trail is easy to follow, but growing in at some points.
There is filterable water until about the halfway mark with a smaller crossing, or at about 1/3 with a larger crossing. |
