Comments
Comments: a good packed snowshoe track all the way. nice and soft up high and a bit more firm in the lower half of the route. some minor ice on the more wind blown carter-moriah ledges that was easily negotiated. the final steep pitch up to the summit had some more substantial ice under the snow in a couple spots which could be routed around with little difficulty. i wore snowshoes the whole hike.
nice day for moriah. some interesting cloudy views from the ledges towards the carter range and to the east. a bit windy, but never a problem along this mostly sheltered route. nice to see patty up near the summit and to run into tim c. on the way down. great to be out.
