Comments
Comments: The day started off well enough. Robie used hillsounds and I used micro spikes to climb the first 2/3 of Ammonoosuc trail. We switched to snowshoes and both liked the traction and left them on for the rest of the day. Winds rose and visibility deteriorated badly above the tree line.

We went to the summit of Monroe but had a hard time getting off as visibility was 50-75 feet. We had passed Art Mooney's group on the way up and met them again at the hut.

We made the decision that conditions although not great were ok to go over the Mt Washington summit and we could always bail after if conditions did not improve.

Conditions were hard but traction was fine and we worked our way across the snow fields going cairn to cairn.

Visibility was difficult and so after getting to Washington headed toward great gulf but decided to go down the cog railway which is not in use.

Had hoped to get over to Madison but with winds etc it seemed the best decision.
