Comments
Comments: Very gusty Notch winds in the parking lot had us doing a sanity check. Once in the woods things were better on a packed out snowshoe track. Some sidehill going through the ski slope area but good traction with MSRs. Snow depths increased above the turn..beautiful winter wonderland. We layered up at the viewpoint as the wind increased. Pretty interesting from there with some good drifts and sleet filled gusty winds but Bryan did a great job in the low visibility staying on trail and getting to Rim Trail. more drifting there but trail evident..very windy with imbedded icy stuff. Didnt linger long on the summit..everything including us rime covered.

Opted for Mittersill descent which was perfect and offered some protection from the wind..took some of the gladed trails down where we were rewarded with some nice powder which made for a great descent. Sure is winter up in the mountains now. Fun day out with Bryan and Cynthia
