Comments
Comments: Trail was heavily packed with around 2 feet of snow. The trail up to north peak did not have enough snow for crampons. We had snowshoes and wore them the entire way up. It would have been impossible to summit without the snowshoes. I used an ice ax on the way up to North Peak but probably would have been better off with ski poles. One person in our group did it without poles or an ax but had a much harder time. We had some butt sleds and slid from the summit of south peak back to the Hancock loop junction. I highly recommend using one, it was a blast. The half a mile trail down took around 10 minuets with 3 stops to regroup and adjust gear.

A side note on the cedar brook trail, the section leading to Hancock was packed down, however the section leading from the Hancock campground was unbroken on the way up. On the way down we noticed XC ski tracks. If you plan to use that trail plan on trail breaking.
