Comments
Comments: A fine day in the forest, hike #2 on the day - needed May 18 for calendar. Trail is snow free to 3200, from 3200-3700 its fleeting mix of ice, snow patches, monorail remnants. A little bit of everything but not for very long. Of note, large sections of ice are covered up by mud or dirt so it looks like soil but it will make you bum touch. From 3700-3900 a more defined rock hard rail still persists. Was holding me fine, still wide enough for me to gleefully ride it. You may want spikes here for the descent but that's up to your comfort level. Once you get in the jungle gym section just below the summit it becomes bare rock again. Rained the whole time, so the trail was in expert mode for the way down with wet rocks and mud. Lowered the PR today by 12 minutes despite that, that was a noice surprise.
