Comments
Comments: Couldn’t have gotten a much better day to hit these up via this route. Livermore road/ trail is totally dry, route to south tripyramid was snow free. Slide views of Waterville valley were spectacular. The only rotting snow and crumbling monorail we encountered was along the ridge of the three tripyramids. Old spikes were useful crossing the ridge and the postholing wasn’t as bad or deep as I anticipated. For May, this was not bad at all. Trail became snow free just before hitting junction with Scaur ridge trail. We chose to add on the Bushwack to Scaur peak since it was such a nice day with good footing. Fun finding the pickle jar and having the crew sign in. Descent down Scaur was wonderful. The trail has great footing and no water crossings. Tom and I have done this route several times and our crew today had never used Scaur and loved it. Sun was with us part of the day and the trilliums are blooming everywhere along the way.
