Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Airline has a succession of duck unders and step over until treeline; all appear to be small enough to be handled with a saw. The trail junction sign at the top of the King Ravine trail is laying down on the job. Gulfside and Airline above Gulfside were unremarkable. Valley Way has more blowdowns than when I hiked it 3 weeks ago; none appear to be in need of a chainsaw.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw three - it was a great day for dogs in the northern Prezis as most of the sharp rocks are still covered in snow and slush.
Bugs
Bugs: I got a mosquito bite today. Grrr!!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I packed out an Outdoor Research hat that was at the Madison Hut. Message me via social media if it is yours. I also packed out part of a hiking pole; as I was fairly certain that I know whose it was I left it at the trailhead near his truck!

Comments
Comments: We hiked up Airline and down Valley Way. My awesome hiking partner detoured to Madison but I only went to Adams because of my bleeping knee LOL. We saw 8 people and 3 dogs today, and we knew 7 of the people! Andrea working on her 4K Every Day and Trailwrights goals, Kyle, ET Fudge and her hubby hiking JAM, Donna and Dagny (props for the 48 over 80!!!!) with Eva and their friend and her dog, and Hiker Ed! How great is THAT? Rock spikes from 1ish miles up Airline until 1ish miles before the cars. Though below treeline there is some monorail and most of that is stable, where there is snow it’s a lot more of a shallow and narrow trench as most people are now in light traction and not in snowshoes. Where the sun shines on the snow, the top 1-2” is very slippery (ask me how I know!!). Above treeline there is enough snow and ice for rock spikes in most places.
We really scored with great weather today!
