Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We had originally planned to ditch a car at the end of Howe Hill Road, but the parking there is pretty dicey at present. The fence you used to park against is gone, there's a dumpster in the corner near the house, and the mud is deep. The road to the inner parking area was rutted, but passable, but we were concerned the mud would be deep once it thawed. We decided to do an out and back on Chippewa instead.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings were pretty easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No major blowdowns on trail, but the side trail to the lime kilns is blocked by a large, downed spruce. The log steps going down from Lime Kiln Road are getting pretty rotted.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one really large German Shephard that was having a good time.
Bugs
Bugs: None!

Comments
Comments: The trail is in really good shape - mostly dry except for the usual mucky spots. There was some runoff over some of the ledges higher up that was frozen on the way up, thawed on the way down. Very minor ice on the trail up high in one spot - easily avoided.
