Nice views 3-4x spots along Lambert's Ridge. Spikes on at final pitch, then off, then on again - same down. Ranger becomes a mudfest 1/4 of the way down, so 2.3 mi of off and on mud, wet smushy leaves, stream bed. Slow, but manageable along edges with a couple of bushwacks around. Nice streams, though! Fun fire tower near summit offers great views (beware HEAVY tower-top hatch). The proper summit is farther along, but unless you're checking off boxes, don't bother. Snowshoes would help here. You're stepping in other's 6" postholes the whole way. |
