Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I removed several small and medium-sized blowdowns today. A few other larger trees remain. The biggest issue is the tree that plopped down right in the middle of the junction of Woronoco and Split Rock Trail, which is obscuring both routes. I delimbed the tree for easier passage and also did some trimming making the entrance to Split Rock more obvious. This is ultimately going to need a chainsaw. The tree also took out the Woronoco trail sign. I propped it up in the correct direction until a new one can be made. At my stopping point for the day I also delimbed a shin-high step over for easier passage.

Bugs
Bugs: Not bad in the morning but once the sun popped out and it got a little warmer, the black flies were voracious. A head net was required when not moving.

Comments
Comments: The plan was to assess the entire Woronoco Trail (Pawtuckaway State Park) and tackle some of the lighter stuff, but I only made it two miles from Mountain Trail before my turnaround time due to the amount of work. I'll try to get the last 0.5 mi. and perhaps Split Rock Trail when I return next week.

Morning showers meant I didn't get on trail until around 10:30. Trails were wet of course but were drying out quickly. Woronoco is definitely a quiet route; only saw four people all day.
