Comments
Comments: Ragged Mountain Trail was generally blazed well; the East Peak and Balance Rock spurs were less so. Despite the blazing, all of the trails had several sections that showed light use; experienced hikers shouldn't have any issue following them, but newbie hikers may have some trouble.

This hike was mostly snow and ice free, with only scattered small patches higher up on the mountain. The trail conditions mainly consisted of wet ground, mud, and standing water, with some areas of dry ground. Expect to get wet and/or muddy if doing this hike anytime in the next few days.

Only saw one other person, who didn't see me. The solitude combined with the generally lesser-used trails and overcast sky made Ragged Mountain feel much more wild and remote than it actually is, which I've grown to appreciate a lot more these days when hiking.
