Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First crossing at the "canal" was very tricky - there is a thin tree across which requires some maneuvering and faith to get across with snowshoes, especially with the shrubbery on the highway side. The other "major" crossing was also a little weird as the water is high and obviously ice bridges are gone - I busted through the thin ice with trekking poles until I found partially submerged rocks to get across on.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two blowdowns noted - one that will be silky saw compatible, the other about 10" spruce. Both are easy to get under.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to lay down a snowshoe track! Only my single pair of snowshoes on trail today, so the track will be soft but she's broke! If you want to have any fun, you'll probably want snowshoes out there.

See water crossing notes above. It looks like someone/something broke through the ice at the "canal" crossing at the beginning, so take care in that spot. Unfortunately, the beautiful log bridge that was built earlier last summer is no longer with us after flooding, but as noted there is an alternative.
