Parking lot was inaccessible -- plow for the houses on the road made a small snowbank blocking the lot. At least a foot of snow on the other side of the bank. Had to park down by the gas station. |

Trail was only broken out for the first mile and a half or so. Saw two other groups turn around, one let us know they'd turned around because it wasn't broken out. We forged ahead and broke out the trail to Waumbek (two of us in snowshoes), but there is a lot of loose powder and it may fill back in with some wind. Snowshoes definitely a must for this one right now! |
