Comments
Comments: As noted above, the road that Wantastiquet Mountain Trail follows is heavily eroded and rocky. The lower parts of the trail had water running right down and across them. Several mud pits along the way. Otherwise, this route was a mix of bare ground and some muddy spots. My turnaround point was the junction with Ann Stokes Loop at Indian Pond.

Near the western terminus of Mine Ledge Trail, I did the very short bushwhack to the true summit of Wantastiquet Mtn., which you can see from the trail, aided by a faint herd path. The high point has a small cairn and two abandoned communication antennas.

Mine Ledge was the highlight of the trip. Super views over the Connecticut River valley and down to the talus blocks that have fallen from the cliff. An interesting place to poke around but be careful; it's a long way down!
