|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues at the bottom of Carriage Rd. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
A few crossings, no issues. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some blowdowns, including a big one on the blue trail near the water crossing and one on Piper-Round link near where the trail peels off to Piper.
The sign at the intersection of East Gilford and White Trails was down again but I decided not to put it back up because it was laying on the rock pile and oriented in a way that correctly indicated the trail directions. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Mine had fun. Lots of water available. Note that Boulder Trail can be tricky with a dog, but mine had no issues.
The E Gilford ledges are a good spot to get some views with your dog if you don't want to head up the tower. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There were a few out. No bites. |

 | Comments: |
A little Belknap loop to finish up some trails with the pup. Great to be out.
I only wore spikes on the descent down Belknap on the Blue Trail, but there are still some snow/ice spots throughout the hike that may firm up and make them necessary for longer stretches. |
