Comments
Comments: My guess is that, due to the coastal nature of Thursday's storm, Cannon received the least new snow of all of the NH 4Ks. There was maybe 1" of new snow at the trailhead, and perhaps 3" in the upper elevations, with a few 6" and 12" drifts in the open areas near the summit. Despite occasional sleet and freezing rain during the day, no crust had formed on the new snow. It was still lightly snowing as of 6 PM tonight.

We wore snowshoes round trip, however it was a bit boney in places in the lower elevations. There's also a lot of frozen granular and ice lurking underneath, from the ski glade down. Snowshoes with good traction (such as MSR Flex Alps) worked well. Up high, the snowshoes came in handy in drifted areas.

If I were to hike this again tomorrow morning, I'd still use snowshoes. I suspect it could be bootable with traction after it gets more traffic.
