Comments
Comments: A great day in the mountains. Perfect conditions – clear sky and minimal wind. Jewell Trail below treeline and the Gulfside trail were packed out. The section of the Jewell above treeline until it meets the Gulfside had some unpacked snow but was still easy to follow. Minimal solid ice on the trail.

Saw 2 other hikes all day, just before the Jefferson summit who had come up from Appalachia (did not asked which trail) and later in the day saw them pitching their tent in Sphinx Col.

Jefferson Notch Road was still open and the small section that I could see near the junction with Base Road appeared to be well ploughed out. Later, speaking to a guy in the parking lot who works at the cog railway who mentioned that they were doing some logging on that road and I wonder if this means that the road will be ploughed during this winter (although he was not sure of this).
