With the recent rain and warmer temps I pretty much knew what to expect but tested the beginning of the trail to get an idea what to bring. It was snowshoes start to finish. Even with the shoes I was still punching through quite a bit. Unstable snow pack for a frustrating effort. Definitely would have been way worse without them. The views were spectacular at the summit! Saw only one other person, who had turned back well before the PUD. I don’t blame him one bit as he only has spikes and must’ve been postholing quite often. Hopefully temps get cooler to help stabilize the trail |
