Comments
Comments: Well what a fine day it was. I was not expecting to see anyone out but saw 2 other solo ladies out and then on the road walk out saw 2 solo guys. The road was nice and quick walk. The trail that is marked with a sign was well packed out with about an inch of fresh snow on it. I saw the 1 set of prints in front of me. I knew it was going to get very warm for the day so the snowshoes came as I was not wanting to post hole the trail up if the heat did the worst. I cruised right along to the 1.5 mile start at the north twin trailhead with some fresh snow mobiles tracks. It should have been about a mile before the fire wardens turn but I was in the zone clearly and walked .5 miles past it. I wanted more miles I guess. I started up and put on the spikes where they did start to ball up due to the warmth and fresh snow from the day before. I got up higher and the snow was still on the trees. I was surprised at the snow pack was holding up so nicely. I got to the summit where I was the first one up for the day it looked with the prints and the summit cairn only was about 10 of so rocks exposed. I was surprised the amount of snow that is on this side of the mountains. I headed on out and cruised down half running and half sliding with the spikes balling up again that I went to my boots. February month gridded out!
