Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Road up to Ethan Pond Trailhead is ice/snow covered but open. Our 4 wheel drive car did fine. A number of cars were parked at the bottom of the hill at 302.

Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Blue

Recommended Equipment: Light Traction, Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: River crossing just after WRT junction is rock-hoppable. Every other stream crossing is bridged. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One large, old blowdown on Ethan Pond Trail. Packed path around it. 
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A medium-large dog made it up and down the WRT and looked like s/he was having a great time!

Comments
Comments: Wore microspikes for the ascent and crampons for the descent until unbridged river crossing. Could have gotten away with light traction heading down but crampons definitely increased confidence. Mix of ice and packed powder. Ladder steps were covered with thick layer of snow & ice but traction was fine with both microspikes and crampons.



Trail was (unfortunately) just as steep as I remembered from a few years ago...
