Comments
Comments: Left the ski lot to get to Wildcat D before 8:30 am. Snowshoes are the best option on the ski trails. Some of the lower ski trails are closed to skiers and are mostly hard packed snow and ice. The upper ski trails are open and were groomed so they resemble beach sand. Wildcat Ridge Trail was solid frozen hard packed snow with frequent boot tracks and postholes, especially between C and D. Spikes worked best on the Ridge. The uneven frozen boot tracks made getting a grip with snowshoes difficult on the steep sections on C and D.
