Comments: Overall this loop is in pretty good shape.

Webster-Jackson Trail from the highway to the Jackson summit is a solid sidewalk. The ascent to Webster and the ridge traverse between the peaks was lesser-traveled, softer, and drifted in places. Everyone else I saw was wearing spikes which seemed to be ok, but I thought snowshoes were the most efficient means of travel today. I was glad to have them along the ridge and for getting up and down the steep summit cone of Jackson. I did see two people coming off Jackson bound for Webster who were lamenting not bringing snowshoes. The snow was also getting quite soft and sticky in exposed sunny areas.

The walk along the ridge is very narrow right now due to snow-laden trees and pokey branches that are at eye level. Much ducking ensued.

Weather was stellar in the morning with bright blue skies and only an occasional whisper of wind. The clouds started to move in as I was leaving Jackson.
