Comments
Comments: Nice to do a shorter hike today - this was a good choice for us with the forecast and late start.

Crusty ice with a few inches of packed powder at the base, increasing to 4-6" in the glades and 8-12" up high. Bit of a breeze above the outlook, maybe 15-20mph at the summit. No sun but good views, with only Lafayette and Lincoln in the clouds. Snow lower down softened a bit on the descent. Wore microspikes car to car, saw others mostly wearing micros or Hillsounds with a few people barebooting - left my snowshoes in the car and didn't regret the decision since even the deeper snow up high was pretty well packed. Great hike with my favorite hiking beast.
