Comments
Comments: An absolutely epic day! Barebooted about a mile in where the spikes went on. Valley Way is good and hard packed, a few edge postholes and only a few in the trail - but some are quite deep. Switched to snowshoes just before the Upper Bruin junction just for better traction, the snow was a bit more loose. First half of Osgood trail is a little bit of a mess with postholes and occassional awkward footing, but nothing wicked impeding. Second half had good footing with some hard snow/ice sections. Kept snowshoes on for the descent but could've switched to spikes. The undercast today was incredible, Washington rising above a sea of clouds in its winter white.. a truly stunning sight! A lot of happy and familiar faces out there today, hello to Jo-Ann/islandgirl and her husband - always a joy meeting such friendly people!!
