Comments: Dropped my car at the ski lot and rode my bike downhill to 19 Mile Brook Trail head. The extra elevation-gain is around 450' in this direction. The 2.75 mile bike ride was not great due to icy shoulders and NO shoulders in places, and very fast traffic--a bit unnerving. The trail up to the notch was very well packed and fast. The steeps up to A and over to D were unpacked and many hikers had slid down from A in the steeper sections...probably not intentionally either. I unfortunately arrived at D around 2:30 and had to wait in the Ski Patrol building until 4 pm. I asked them what happened to the woman ahead of me and they said she slipped by them and was too far down to make her re-trace her steps back to the top. They weren't happy about that. On my way down the slopes (which were incredibly packed and skid-free) I passed 3 young dudes on their way up to head over to the hut for the night....ah, to be young again!
