| Comments: |
Used micro spikes start to finish. Trails were fast and good. A dusting of snow from last night wasn't sufficient to cover boot prints from a prior day. Trails basically a dusting or a few inches over ice.
Packed snow drifts at start of spur to Mt. Pierce where winds picked up. Some bite to the wind then, otherwise no wind to speak of during hike.
Had trail to myself on ascent, ran into a dozen students from North Carolina State U up for a few days hiking in the Presidentials over winter break, camping in the shelters. |
