Random Group of Hikers, party of 8. Conditions: up to just below the summit of Parker, hard-crust snow with deep powder beneath (~2 feet est.). Rough going. We mostly broke through the crust with snowshoes, leaving a relatively unpacked but broken out trail behind. Trail was all powder near the summit with light drifting. There were some postholes along the first 0.5 miles; we passed one barebooter just before exiting. New powder began to fall as we exited (about 2" accumulation). |
